I want you to get the care you deserve
The Story Behind Unscripted Medicine
Unscripted Medicine was born out of a simple conviction: healthcare should be about restoring function, improving well-being, and preventing disease.
Over the last century, conventional medicine has become over-specialized, breaking the various body systems into disconnected specialities, and over-focused on medication management, “a pill for every ill”. In traditional care models, patients struggling with physical symptoms like chronic fatigue, brain fog, metabolic disease, or low motivation are often dismissed and sent to mental health after their labs return "normal”. Meanwhile, those seeking support for emotional and mental symptoms are all too often met with a rushed 10-minute symptom checklist and a one-size-fits-all prescription. In both of these scenarios, the foundational systems driving actual health, such as cellular metabolism, gut function, and hormones, are left entirely unaddressed.
I built Unscripted Medicine because I believe we all deserve better.
In early 2026, after some divine intervention, I embarked on a labor-of-love to create a medical practice where I could provide exactly the type of care patients need most—accessible, root-cause medicine that offers far more than standard prescriptions and vague, unrealistic lifestyle advice.
By integrating my conventional family medicine and psychiatric training with advanced functional medicine principles, I built a practice that cares for the whole person. Achieving optimal health is an active, shared journey. I am here to provide the unhurried time, elite tools, and clinical attention required to identify the source of your symptoms and reclaim your true mental and physical well-being.
The Unscripted Philosophy
A MANIFESTO OF CARE
-
I believe the mind is a projection of the brain and body’s physical health, which is continuously shaped by genetics, environment, and experiences. I view the body as an interconnected "system of systems" where no single organ functions in isolation. Adequate nutrition, sleep, stress regulation, physical activity, and social connection are biological imperatives and critical to achieving true mental and physical well-being.
-
I believe that every person is the absolute subject matter expert of their own life and that no one seeking help is beyond help. You are a unique individual who deserves the unhurried time and space to share your story and define your own success. My role is to provide the clinical roadmap to wellness; your role is to be the navigator. I meet you exactly where you are on your healing journey.
-
I believe that patient education is the cornerstone of sustainable healing. I share my knowledge and understanding of how behavior, nutrition, and environmental factors directly impact your symptoms and your objective health data. Using radical honesty and expectation management, I provide you with the exact insight and tools required to take full ownership of your long-term health.
-
I believe the ultimate power to heal lies within the individual. While I provide the clinical expertise and offer treatment recommendations, I deeply honor the shared decision-making process. Your absolute autonomy to choose the health and wellness path that aligns with your life, your constraints, and your values will always be protected.

THE PATH TO ROOT-CAUSE MEDICINE
Born and raised on the coast of Massachusetts, my path to medicine was not a straight line. At UMass Amherst, I majored in biology, where an early focus on evolutionary biology permanently shaped how I view human health. I recognized that all biological systems evolved to function in harmony with specific natural rhythms and communities—creating a distinct mismatch with the relentless stressors of our modern human environment.
Following graduation, I commissioned into the U.S. Army as a Quartermaster Officer, gaining invaluable leadership experience. In 2013, I entered the Interservice Physician Assistant Program at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and went on to serve as an active-duty Battalion PA. It was during this time treating soldiers that I discovered my calling in mental health.
A TURNING POINT IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS
In 2020, I transitioned from active duty to step into a new adventure: raising my family and supporting my husband's growing career. Together with our three sons, we have moved across the country—from Colorado to Massachusetts, and ultimately to the rugged beauty of Alaska—pursuing outdoor adventures and gathering diverse professional experiences along the way.
Pregnant at the height of the pandemic, my first civilian PA role was providing urgent care via telehealth. In 2021, I transitioned into telepsychiatry, where a stark pattern emerged: the vast majority of my psychiatric patients weren't just struggling mentally—they were simultaneously battling chronic physical diseases.
Driven by relentless pursuit of knowledge, my research led me to functional medicine. I realized that a root-cause framework for systemic healing was the only viable path to lasting psychological and physical well-being. I did my best to guide patients through these biochemistry-shifting transformations, but I quickly discovered that the standard 15-minute conventional healthcare model simply wasn't built to support true healing.
WHEN IT BECAME PERSONAL
I earned my Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry in 2024, and shortly after, my mission became deeply personal. I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease, realizing that amidst the noise of cross-country military moves and raising three young boys, I had lost pieces of my own well-being.
In 2025, I made a definitive choice to live and work more intentionally, and to unapologetically pursue real health. I stepped away from the comfort of conventional psychiatry to join a highly successful functional medicine practice. Under the mentorship of an advanced functional medicine nurse practitioner, I gained invaluable, hands-on experience helping patients actively reverse chronic illnesses and achieve authentic vitality.
Founding Unscripted Medicine is the ultimate culmination of my life's work as a leader, a highly specialized psychiatric PA, and a functional medicine provider. It brings together all of my professional passions while honoring my stubborn need to live life—and practice medicine—on my own terms, free from the assembly line.
BEYOND THE CLINIC
I love the mountains, I love freedom, and I love guiding people on their journey to discover true health from the inside out. When I am not caring for patients, you can find me running and hiking through the Alaskan wilderness, riding bikes with my sons, reading, walking my dog, cooking, or attempting to master gardening (despite my husband affectionately labeling me a plant killer).
My Mantra
Start simple.
Be intentional.
Do hard things.
Keep going.
